Becoming the person you want to be, with Caryn Gillen
When I worked at Apple, there was an unspoken policy that I sometimes railed against. If you wanted a promotion, you had to start doing the higher level work before you were considered for a pay raise. On the surface, that seemed so unfair. But in hindsight, I see the wisdom in it. Because the people who are so committed to their growth and the growth of the team that they will step in and do work they are not required to do? Those are the leaders you want to have. They have the commitment, the drive, and the willingness to get uncomfortable in order to grow. Those are qualities of leaders, and you can't usually get people to show those qualities if they don't already have them, just by paying them more. This week's guest is Caryn Gillen. Caryn is a weight loss coach for powerhouse women who are ready to end the struggle with food and their weight. But most of what Caryn talks about in this episode is applicable to far more than your struggles with food and weight. She talks about about creating the necessary environment for you to make radical change in your life - any kind of change. It isn’t about the weight loss. It is about transformation. Who is that person you want to be on the other side of the number on the scale, or the income from your business, or the degree you don't have yet? How can you start being that person now? What habits and ways of being support the person you want to become, rather than the person you are now?Listen to Episode 18 now in the play bar below (reload your browser if you don't see it).
